My goal as a therapist is to help you heal from stressors of the past or present (or even future), challenge and change your inner dialogue to a more compassionate voice,

build tools in dealing with disappointments or anxiety, and help you understand yourself better than you did before you entered the doors of therapy (or the zoom call). My promise as a therapist is to create a healing and safe environment for my clients, and have fun along the way.

My pursuit into becoming a therapist began with my desire to help children. Prior to entering the world of therapy, I was a pre-school teacher, where she would work with children ages 3-5 and assisted them in building their social, emotional, and educational foundation. I love being able to play, while understanding and shaping the world through children's eyes. I implement play and art therapy as modalities to allow the child to feel safe, have fun, and understand through actions what is in the Childs thoughts and feelings. As a kid, I was fortunate to have a supportive family, and still, suffer from anxiety and depression. This is to say, sometimes “everything is right” and “things are still wrong.” This is where assistance of a therapist can be so impactful. Sometimes, we need some extra tools in our kit to deal with the stressors of life. While it is cliche, my goal in working with children is to give them a safe space to be themselves, and create a healthy foundation into to adolescence and adulthood. In working with children, we also know that family involvement is essential to success. I use a collaborative approach with parents to help ensure ultimate growth.

Teenage years can be awkward and uncomfortable, trust me when I say, “I KNOW”. You are forming your identity and finding your voice, but still living under the rules of teachers and parents. Where is the freedom and understanding in that? Can there be a middle ground? I believe there is, and I aim to help you find that! Through the ups and downs I aim to make you feel heard, validated and supported in your journey through these transformative years.

Welcome to college, it’s gonna be great?! What happens when that isn’t the reality for some? There is academic pressure, moving away from friends or family, new friends, clubs, drinking, relationships, heartbreak, the list goes on… and yet, were expected to still go to class/work? You are not alone. Together, we can navigate through the emotions that arise when your expectations meet cruel cruel reality. It can totally suck, but we can do hard things. We can build skills, a comfort in self advocacy and most of all, build that self compassion (arguably, there is never enough). In all my work, I provides a safe, warm and healing space for clients, and I would be failing at my job if we didn’t share laughs along the way. Ultimately, I believe that with proper support, education, and empowerment, change and healing are inevitable.
