We all have times in our lives when we feel fearful or overwhelmed.  I work with young men and women who feel like they are "in their head" all the time, struggling with the transition to or from college, or feel like their relationships aren't working.  With all the pressures life brings, we often make decisions out of fear or criticize ourselves too harshly.  Our work will focus on relieving the additional pressure that we often create.  If you are experiencing feelings of sadness or pain, I can sit with you, so you feel less alone.

When I work with adults, I tend to work in a "relational" way.  This means that I will use myself as a tool to tune in to what your experience may be like or what it feels like for those around you.  Often, the relationship that we create in the therapy room will embody many similarities with other relationships that you have in your life.  By talking about what happens between us, we can often get you unstuck in your other relationships and reconfigure how you relate to yourself.  This type of work can take some time; however, my clients share that it produces long-lasting results that generalizes to all aspects of their lives.

In addition to focusing on relationships, I have a special passion for helping people who have had a hard childhood.  This might include not feeling heard by your parents, experiencing violations into your space, or losing someone important to you.  I practice sensorimotor psychotherapy which helps unstick people from their trauma.  Let me help you get un-stuck.
